The Men's Club of Congregation B'nai Israel is an independent Jewish Men’s
Club at which local Jewish men can congregate and participate in the life of
our community.

Activities are held monthly and may include Sunday morning breakfast
meetings with a speaker, attending sporting events, outdoor activities, poker
tournaments, a monthly video presentation of an opera with discussion, and
workdays around the synagogue. Topics at breakfast meetings may be
related to Judaism or to some other area of interest to our membership.

One annual Shabbat weekend is sponsored and fully conducted by the
Men's Club. Annual Membership dues are $18 and the club is open to those
who would enjoy participating in our activities, whether or not a member of
the congregation.

The Men's Club raises funds for Jewish Youth activities, including sponsorship
of travel to statewide meetings and a partial scholarship to Camp Ramah
Daron.

We give each B'nai Mitzvah either a Chanukiah or Teffilin, based upon their
preference and need. We financially support the annual Yom Hashoah
memorial service. We have assisted and provide support for the Annual
Gainesville Jewish community picnic. We have provided the congregational
Sukkah and provide an avenue for purchase of lulavim and etrogim for Sukkot.
We provide manpower to supplement professional security personnel during
the High Holy Day services.
